The list.
In wargaming speak the list is the collection of units that
you take into battle. It might be a battleforce, armada, or warband, and
depending on the ruleset a fixed set or something that you can customized based
on the narrative or faction.
The list is your starting point for all tactics.
Getting ready to play a game, the terrain is set up, and the
mission is ready to go- when does the game start?
Turn one?
Only if you want to lose an advantage.
The game starts with the list.
As soon as your opponent starts pulling out models and you
see the list start asking the internal question: what is the plan based on that
list?
Based on the units, what are they going to try and do to
stop me and win the mission? How are these units going to work together to win,
what synergies do they have?
How can I stop the?
And, if I can’t how can I delay them long enough?
Likewise, what is the optics and plan for you list?
What is it signaling in terms of tactics for your opponent
to see and use?
How does it shape their plan?
The game starts with the list, and you need every advantage
you can get.
See you in the game!
